Constant Novelty
A novelty
1—Novelty is constant. The present is novelty. Novelty is the new age of a new time. Days are no longer days. Weeks don’t become months. Months don’t stretch into years. Novelty is an optical illusion. Novelty also tells us to cling to it, so we may cross to the other side—driven by the novelty of novelty. And novelty. And novelty. So many layers. Others floundered in the vortex.
2 — We are surrounded at the precipice. Every bold escape has already been anticipated. They've rewritten the rules of daily life. Our victories were swept away by an extinct army, beyond the blackest black of the forest.
3—Trenches have been dug. The ground is mined. Soldiers of freedom sit in despair, staring at the screen. They want to do nothing. From that noisy silence, something still might emerge. Still. Floundered in the vortex.
